Curriculum vitae
March 2008 – present. Permanent position as researcher at CRA-Genomic Research Centre – Fiorenzuola d’Arda.
From 2003 to 2008 Researcher (temporary position) at Istituto Sperimentale per la Zootecnia – Monterotondo (Roma) (CRA) working on identification of genetic markers for productive and quality traits in farm animals.
2000-2002. A Telethon grant related to the project "" Altered bone cell function in osteopetrosis"" at University of L’Aquila- Department of Experimental Medicine
1997-2000. PhD in Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, Institute of Medical Pharmacology.
1995. Bachelor of Biology at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, Department of Cellular Biotechnologies and Hematology

Current research interests
Luigi Orrù is a molecular biologist, his expertise lies in the application of Illumina massively parallel sequencing technology in the analysis of genomes and gene expression. His work is mainly focused on the analysis of microbial genomes.
